About Muhammad University
The Muhammad University is a religious educational institution. Its auditorium includes nine floor-to-ceiling, west-facing windows each measuring 6’x22′. The windows allow very high levels of solar heat and glare throughout the day. Additionally, just outside the windows is busy parking lot. Both the solar and privacy challenges proved to be disruptive during school assemblies and special events.
The Solar + Privacy Control Challenge
Muhammad University needs to control privacy levels, as well as solar levels, during private and sacred ceremonies.
In addition to the solar glare and heat challenges, Muhammad University staff needed a motorized control solution to effectively operate the large shades before, during and after auditorium events.
Products Used
Fabric:
– All room darkening shades fitted with NoLite Fiberglass (Oyster, 0% openness).
Controls:
– All motorized shades controlled using radio transmitted signals. A hand-held remote and wall switch were included in the design for ultimate ease of use.
Slat:
– 1″ aluminum, encased in heat seamed hem.

A total of nine Illinois Window Shade Company Motorized Roller Shades each measuring 6’x22′ were placed in the auditorium windows. Controls
The nine Illinois Window Shade Company Motorized Roller Shades are controlled by radio transmitted signals.
