Which fabric, and why.

Specification

What this is not.

It is a starting specification, not daylight modelling — and it does not name one fabric and call it the answer.

Why it gives a range, not a product

Two fabrics at the same openness perform differently — the weave, the yarn and the colour all move the result. The deciding numbers live on the mill spec sheets, measured against specific glazing. A tool that skips to a product name is hiding that from you.

Why climate is coarse

A state is enough to know whether a building is fighting heat or keeping it. It is not enough for anything finer, and a dropdown that implied otherwise would be pretending to a precision it does not have. Large states get told they straddle a boundary.
