Fettes, Love & Sieben service plumbers are unique and diverse in that they will work in many of Chicago’s high rises and mid-rises while also working in single family homes throughout the suburbs. The other division of Fettes, Love & Sieben deals with contract work. This work is typically bidded to general contractors and may be high-end residential, commercial, healthcare, riser replacement, industrial or design build.
The Fettes, Love, & Seiben office space was in need of a window shading system that would help to control the solar light and heat exposure in their office. Their previous window coverings weren’t adept to efficiently reduce the negative aspects of the sun. Without the proper window covering, office staff was prone to increased eyestrain when working on computers due to glare and uncomfortable working conditions due to the high temperatures.
The Solar Challenge
Fettes, Love, & Seiben staff needed a shading system that was capable of being transparent enough to filter sunlight so that staff could enjoy the view outside while also cutting out any glare and heat gain that unfiltered sunlight can cause.

– All clutch operated roller shades utilized a Rollease R-16 clutch and a #10 stainless steel bead chain.
Fabric:
– All woven mesh shades were made with Mermet Koolblack E-Screen 7703 fabric in the color “Cocoa/Cocoa” #0220 with a 3% openness factor
IWS Solutions
To resolve the solar control challenge of Fettes, Love & Seiben, Illinois Window Shade Company designed a shading system that both filtered sunlight and decreased solar heat.

These shade systems, dressed with Mermet KoolBlack technology, were controlled by clutches and were operated with a #10 stainless steel beaded chain which hangs at the side of each individual shade, providing ultimate shade maneuvering and ensuring years of worry-free usage.
Results
After the successful IWS installation, Fettes, Love & Seiben office staff was able to work comfortably on their computers at any time of the day. Intense glare and solar heat gain were no longer an issue due to do the highly-effective KOOLBLACK Technology fabric implemented on each shade.
