The Inland Facilities national headquarters, located in Oak Brook, IL, needed an effective solar shading system for the south-facing windows located on the 2nd and 3rd levels of the office building. The windows were transmitting extremely high levels of solar glare and UV causing great discomfort for staff trying to use computer monitors throughout the work day. Solar heat was also a problem during the summer months.
Challenge
Inland facilities management needed a solar shading system that would drastically lower glare levels while still allowing acceptable levels of daylight into the interior space. The primary objective was to provide a safe and comfortable working environment for staff.
